They say that when you first fall in love, you know the moment it happens. Cally had no reason to believe otherwise. After all, she knew the moment his hand touched hers, when she looked into those gorgeous blue eyes that called to the depths of her soul. There wasn’t a single bone in her body that didn’t ache for him to make her an honest woman and marry her. After all, it was what was proper, right? After what they had done…
How was she supposed to know that he didn’t feel an ounce of true love for her?
Cally was oblivious to the world at this point, scribbling “Calantha White” in the margins of her note book for the millionth time. Her perfect cursive seemed to only add a sense of legitimacy to the fictional name, making it hers in a way that no document ever could. Oh, how she longed to take that name as her own one day.
“Cally?”
The teenaged girl nearly jumped out of her skin, having been so absorbed in her own scribbles to realize that the auditorium was emptying out. The meeting must be over. She gathered her things in embarrassment, hoping that not too many people noticed her day dreaming. After all, she was a shoe in for student council president next year, and she didn’t want to ruin that over a simple day dream, especially when she would have the real thing after school the next day. She flashed a quick smile to the teacher who spoke her name and organized her spirals in their proper color order.
A quick glance around told her that Nate had already cleared out. That wasn’t surprising in the least. He was most likely going out with his friends. He was strange in the way that he actually enjoyed the company of other people. Cally didn’t get it. She much preferred to avoid her so-called “friends” with the venom one might reserve for a skunk. She only let them be around her because it was the right thing to do.
She stood, straightening her pink and black argyle sweater as well as her pencil skirt. Appearances were everything, after all. As she walked out the door, her heels clicked in a perfected tempo, one right after another as she walked down the hallway.
“Calanthia? Can you-“
Cally glanced over at the disgusting nerd walking beside her. Really? Who did she think that she was, speaking without permission? ”Don’t you have a comic book convention to be at?” The girl looked so dejected that Cally had to smirk. The people at this school were so adorable when they realized their place. ”Why don’t you run off to catch reruns of Star Trek and leave me be.” The girl was still standing there, looking shocked. God, was she really that dumb? ”That means shoo.” With that, the freak went scurrying off. Took her long enough. How idiotic do you have to be before you finally figure out that it’s time for you to leave??
Cally rolled her eyes and continued on her journey to her locker and paused there to open it and fix her hair and make-up in the mirror, making sure there wasn’t a single thing out of place. There wasn’t a single thing wrong with her, at least not in her mind. How else can you describe something so utterly perfect? She gently spread some pink lip balm on her mouth and blew herself a kiss in the mirror. How could anyone not love her?

Today, well it had kind of been a long day, but a school day none the less and well for Saxon Derik Iverson, those days were always rather long. The seventeen year old boy, though he didn't mind, because he was attempting to really be productive and get through school. A total of six months of his high school career was left. He had been a 'shark' sense he was a wee freshmen, and he was just about over it and with the first set of exams behind him and the first semester out of two were done he was starting to get senior-i-tus. A common 'disease' among seniors where they were starting not to really give a flying...anymore. The last class of the day for the young man had been gym, and rightfully so, because he had work tonight.
A phone call was made do Zofia, after the boy had of course showered and got dressed in clean clothes. Of course, you had your gym clothes, and you had a set of the clothes that you wore that day, but Saxon also brought an extra set of clothes. That was pry weird to most people, but if you put on the clothes you wore all day you were in that day's dirt. That was his piece of mind on that manner. Once he had declared that everything was fine at home, well he put his old clothes in his backpack, and he locked up his gym locker. The bell set him free and he kind of waited for a moment before piling himself into the halls..he didn't want to be trampled by jocks and a bunch of people leaving classes, because the day was up and done? It was rather smart in his mind.
Once, he found the halls were clear enough for him to be in them as well he made his way towards his locker, but the scene in front of him made him snicker. There was a young woman trying to talk to Meredith Calanthia Shain, who he knew as one of the girls that were kind of stuck up in this school. The young man kind of overheard it all and rolled his eyes. The insults were kind of weak in his mind. The girl was telling her to go watch Star Trek, or something and pry thought that was utter genius. Landon knew how to insult people better than that, but he had manners and respect and knew his ass would be in trouble if he ever talked to someone like that. It was kind of sad how maturity levels seemed to defer these days.
Saxon waited for a moment and then he moved over to the locker next to hers leaning against it. The boy as well was not going to wait for permission or for Cally to speak to him. The fact of the matter was he wasn't going to be told what to do by anyone, and there was no controlling him. He wasn't going to walk of either, because Cally insulted him. "Girl you up and missed the zit" he said in a stereotypical girly voice. The funny thing about that he figured her for the type of girl to search for the zit on her face after he said that, but he could have pegged her wrong.
The boy rose up from leaning against the locker and stepped behind her looking in the mirror in case she was trying to look in her locker to ignore him...there would be no missing his beautiful mug. "So I think it was real mature of you back there to up and put the girl in her place. Star Trek totally dead on." he said and snickered. "You know what though now you're on my radar and I'm thinking its possibly time for you to learn of a place" he said rubbing his chin and winked at her in the mirror. Now, there was going to be no escaping for this young woman, because he didn't care who she was. The girl that went by the name of Cally, well she was going down according to mister Saxon.
